ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

The UP Foundation is a Community Interest Company (CIC) established in 2015 and based in Redditch. UP stands for “Unlocking potential” - as we aim to enable each young person we work with to fully unlock their infinite potential!

We provide positive activities for young people, which help them to believe in themselves, learn new skills, move away from unhealthy and anti-social behaviours and progress in their lives.

We offer guidance for our beneficiaries through mentoring programmes, sport and activities and one-to-one support. We also provide further opportunities for young people to learn through volunteering and gain accreditations through relevant short courses.

We lead our own projects but also believe strongly in developing community cohesion through close partnership with other local organisations, community groups and young people themselves.

WHO WE WORK WITH

We work with young people and young adults, with most of our participants aged 11-25 years. Our work is focused on those who come from backgrounds which mean they are disadvantaged or may lack opportunities to fully achieve their potential in life.

Our interventions are particularly targeted at those:

Failing to achieve through education (or in neither education nor employment).
Suffering from low mood, low self- esteem or from mental health issues
At risk of (future) long-term health conditions (e.g., diabetes, heart and lung disease and cancer) due to inactivity and / or poor lifestyle choices.
Becoming involved in crime (or at risk of doing so).

WHERE WE WORK

Our work covers central Redditch, the surrounding local communities, and the connecting neighbourhoods of Batchley and Matchborough.

The Up Foundation operates from a range of local sites and venues through hire agreements, it currently has no permanent building base or facility but we are looking for one.

UP Foundation’s committed and passionate team of part-time staff and volunteers have a strong connection with the Redditch community, having lived or worked in the area for many years.
